I AM often asked why I dedicate so much time to fighting the EU - after all, most don't like it and a majority of those who were conned into voting in favour in 1975 settle for growling at the mention of it. What motivates me to be such a zealot? The answer is complex but the simplest I can give is that it scares the daylights out of me. USA influence here is merely that. The EU has power over us which it misuses more and more the bigger it gets.
What frightens me most is the general apathy and even though most despise the EU, surprisingly few seem to grasp that every major issue in the coming election is underpinned by it. Either they have the power to prevent our elected MPs doing their best for us or they have siphoned away so much of our money and potential we are not, as a nation, able to afford those things we most need
