Mr T Moore, who for nine years has been the manager of the Imperial Tap, Manby Road, and has taken over the Gas Tavern Inn, Pickersleigh Road, was on Friday evening presented with a shaving outfit, and Mrs Moore received a handsome clock and pair of vases. Mr W H Lambert made the presentation and spoke of the pleasant relations which had existed between the customers and Mr and Mrs Moore for so long a period. Malvern Gazette, April 7, 1905.
The concert arranged by Miss Florence Fardon under the distinguished patronage of Her Grace, The Duchess of Hamilton, passed off most successfully at the Royal Hall on Thursday evening. We were very pleased to find that Miss Fardon was so well supported, for she has done a great deal for musical gatherings in Ledbury in recent years. Miss Masefield contributed two beautifully executed violin solos and Mr T F Davis gave a brilliant piano solo. Ledbury Free Press, April 11, 1905.

"it's becoming too expensive to die," said Coun F A Edwards, speaking at the council meeting this week on a proposal (carried) to raise burial fees. He protested that the authority was regarding what was a sacred trust in the light of cold £. s. d. Mr E Scott and others maintained that the proposals would be the means of bringing Malvern into line with other authorities and that wages of workmen had risen. Malvern Gazette, April 8, 1955.
"And all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils," but that may not be the case in the Dymock and Newent district for some weeks yet. Normally at this time, countless thousands of daffodils are to be had. But owing to the bitter cold winds and late frosts, the daffodil harvest has been delayed by almost three weeks. The Colwall Clock, a parish newsletter due to appear for the first time on May 1, will now, with full support by the parish council, include news and views from all over the parish, instead of only church activities. Newsletter editor Mr Tom March told Colwall parish councillors at their April meeting that if the newsletter was to be a success, it needed the support of the parish council and people in authority. Malvern Gazette, April 10, 1980.
More fundraising will be necessary if Ledbury Chamber of Commerce is to meet the expenses of its Christmas lights scheme for the past and coming year, said Mr Brian Clark at the chamber's sherry party in the Royal Oak, Ledbury. Last year, the bill was nearly £400 more than was estimated. Ledbury Reporter, April 10, 1980.
