CONTEMPORARY English folk with a twist will be on the menu in Worcester this weekend when Machine Breakers pay a visit.

The powerful Oxfordshire trio combine Julian Pollard on vocals and strumming guitar, Simon Othen on guitars and mandolin and latest addition Mark Platt on percussion.

Their group's song, Sea Green, has been described as "a masterpiece" and Julian has already won praise from many, including artists as diverse as Ray Davies and Steve Winwood.

Many of his songs are written from the perspective of a disillusioned Englishman coming to terms with the realities of life, although often with an infectious sense of humour and optimism.

The band take the stage at the Marr's Bar on Sunday evening.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are £4 on the door.
