OLD Vigornians defeated Dominies & Guild by five wickets in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League.

They totalled 104-1 with the help of good contributions from Paul Judge, Will Smith and Phil Mackie after Dominies & Guild finished on 103-5.

Twins Chris Miles and Steve Miles got Dominies off to a steady start, putting on 14 runs for the first wicket.

But Steve Miles missed a straight ball from Mackie to be bowled for five runs in the third over.

Matt Williams joined Chris Miles (28 retired) and they added 37 runs off three overs.

Chris Stokes and Williams took the score to 69 in the eighth over when Stuart Bailey trapped Williams lbw for 15.

Despite a bright knock from Ben Tredinnick (23 not out), wickets fell regularly over the last four overs.

In the ninth over, Smith bowled Stokes for eight and, in the 11th over, accounted for Gus Ford (0) lbw and bowled Steve Miles for 28.

OVs' bowling honours went to Smith (3-19), Mackie (1-27) and Bailey (1-26).

Judge and James Bader put on 31 runs for the first wicket before Ford bowled the latter for 12.

Smith joined Judge (28 retired) and they swiftly put on 36 runs before the eighth over.

Mackie and Smith progressed to the target with six balls left. Ford (1-30) was the only successful bowler.

Colwall defeated Droitwich 'C' by 24 runs after totalling 124-3 with the visitors managing 100-3.

Batting first, Colwall got off to a good start through Tom Wolfendale and Tim Riley scoring 43 off the first five overs.

Wolfendale, with 26 runs from only 16 deliveries retired, so Jordan Kontarinas joined Riley, only to be unluckily run out from a direct throw for one.

James Wagstaff joined Riley and they got 29 runs before the latter was run out for 24.

Lee Hankins, eventually run out by a direct throw onto the stumps for four, and Wagstaff added 22 runs.

Wagstaff retired on 27, leaving Wolfendale (40 not out) and Mark Shouler (nine not out) to take the score to 124.

Droitwich 'C' got off to a steady, if slow, start through Dan Garbett and Craig Hunt.

In the fourth over, accurate bowling from Wagstaff helped run Garbett out for four. Martyn Davies, who retired on 26 from 14 balls, joined Hunt and took the score to 47.

Anthony Small linked up with Hunt until, in the ninth over, bad judgement accounted for Hunt being run out for 20 with the score on 66.

Phil Darlinson and Small moved on to 93 by the middle of the 12th over before Darlinson (10) was run out.

Mike Rogers (three not out) and Small (14 not out) saw the last over out with the innings closing on 100.

For Colwall, Wagstaff (1-11) was the only wicket-taker.
