A MOTORIST was injured in a car crash caused by a cable tied across a road in Kidderminster.
A Ford Fiesta, travelling along Woodbury Road, drove into the orange cable, which was tied between a tree and a lamp post just after 8pm last night. The driver braked, but was unable to stop.
A Ford Escort, which was following behind, was in collision with the Fiesta. Its 21-year-old male driver from Kidderminster sustained whiplash injuries and was treated by at the scene by paramedics.
"This may have been children messing about but it was an offence of causing danger to road users, and forensic examination of the cable and house-to-house inquiries were carried out," said PC Nick Ferguson of Kidderminster Police Road Policing Unit.
"Luckily in this case, the man's injuries were minor, but the consequences could have been much more serious - had a cyclist or motorcyclist ridden into the cable, they could have been killed." Anyone with information are asked to contact Kidderminster Po-lice on 08457 444888.
