MEMBERS of a Worcestershire-based international action group are hosting two days of events as part of The Global Week of Action for Trade Justice.
The Evesham and District Trade Justice Group meets monthly and arranges public meetings of awareness and support for poorer countries in the world.
Group chairman Brian Holliday said: "Trade justice means giving poor countries a fighting chance with the rich world, especially large transnational companies. Claiming the poor can benefit from the present free trade rules is like expecting a village football team to hold its own against Manchester United."
The events will take place on Friday, April 15, from 10.30pm to 8am the following day, where a vigil will be held at Evesham Baptist Church in Cowl Street. Also on Saturday, April 16, where campaigners in Pershore High Street will invite shoppers to sign postcards to "vote for trade justice and "make poverty history" which will be sent to the Government. The group welcomes any support offered.
