NEWLYWEDS Nicola and Jody Bates might look like any normal, happy couple - but they shared more than just a wedding day with Charles and Camilla.
They both had a civil ceremony, they are both honeymooning in a Scottish castle - and the bride's new mother-in-law is called Elizabeth.
The Bates even share the same gardener as the royal family - former gardener at Windsor Castle John Clarke also laid their patio, and was a guest at their wedding.
But their happy event took place at Malvern Register Office on Saturday, without any of the hitches which marred the run-up to Charles and Camilla's big day.
The couple, from Britannia Square, near Worcester city centre, had a more low-key affair, but with a similar intimate number of guests.
And both Jody's step-mother Elizabeth, and his mum, Rosi were proud to be there, unlike the Queen who snubbed Charles' nuptials.
The links do not end there.
Charles and Camilla even had the music of Worcestershire composer Edward Elgar playing at their blessing ceremony.
"It's a special day for anyone so the fact that it was the same day as Charles and Camilla's wedding didn't make it any more special," said Nicola, aged 34.
"Because I have been married before I feel really fortunate to have had a second chance."
Despite having a more modest budget, the blushing bride looked radiant in an ivory bodice and fishtail skirt, which was a snip at under £1,000.
Jody thought his bride looked beautiful.
"I've just received the best gift I could ever have in the best surroundings," said the 29-year-old.
After the wedding they tucked into a feast at Malvern's Abbey Hotel and in the evening were joined by around 200 guests to dance the night away.
