HEREFORD United can take a giant step nearer a Nationwide Conference play-off place with a win at relegation-threatened Forest Green tonight (7.45).
With four games to play, it now looks increasingly likely that six more points will be enough for a top-five finish.
And, with three tough matches against play-off rivals Halifax, Woking and Accrington in the season's final week, three points tonight would considerably ease the pressure.
The Bulls have not conceded a goal in their last five matches and should start favourites to win at The Lawn.
But Forest Green's surprise 1-0 win at Carlisle on Saturday, ending the home side's seven-game unbeaten run, gives a clear warning that Hereford will not have everything their own way.
United will have to make one change from Saturday's starting line-up with on-loan midfielder Daryl Taylor sidelined after injuring a knee in Saturday's win over York City.
Danny Williams or Brian Smikle are in contention for Taylor's spot on the right of midfield.
Although Hereford are unlikely to make many other changes, Simon Travis may win a recall against one of his former clubs where he spent the 2001/2002 season.
The full-back has recently been resting a groin problem on doctor's advice.
Bulls director of football Graham Turner's other decision to make is in attack where Danny Carey-Bertram is available again after serving a three-match ban for a sending-off against Northwich Victoria on Easter Monday.
Lee Mills has deputised effectively for Carey-Bertram in the matches against Stevenage, Carlisle and York.
But Turner could prefer youngster Leroy Williams, on loan from Walsall and a substitute on Saturday, to both Mills and Carey-Bertram.
Hereford will be bidding for a seventh double of the season and a clean sweep of successes against sides in the bottom six.
In 11 matches against the Conference's strugglers, Hereford have notched 11 wins and one of those came at Edgar Street against their Gloucestershire rivals.
Craig Stanley and Adam Stansfield scored as Hereford gained a 2-1 win back in December.
Last season, Hereford produced one of their best performances of a memorable campaign when they won 7-1 at The Lawn with Paul Parry hitting a hat-trick.
