A CAT has been killed on a city road only days after residents warned of the dangers of speeding traffic.
Jeanette Harris said a child could be the next victim after her cat, Bam, was injured in a road accident in Brickfield Road, Worcester.
She collected 110 names on a petition to prospective parliamentary candidate for Worcester, Mike Foster, demanding action to slow the speed of traffic in the busy road.
Mr Foster has told her he will take the matter up after the General Election, if he is re-elected.
"Now another cat has been knocked down and this time it was killed," she said.
"It was brought to my door by someone who knew I was a cat lover and I buried it in my garden."
Mrs Harris, of Fairfield Close, said she did not know who owned the cat.
"My own cat, Bam, was lucky he survived, but he still has no feeling in one of his front legs and it will have to be amputated when I can get the money together," she said.
"This is a deadly road and something needs to be done before there is another accident. It's going to be a person next."
