REPRESENTATIVES from Worcestershire attended the first MG Rover Task Group meeting.
County council leader George Lord met key players from Advantage West Midlands, Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and politicians yesterday morning to discuss the future of the car giant.
The task group is a high-level meeting of industry and public sector figures overseeing the emergency package of support for MG Rover suppliers, the Longbridge workforce and the local community and will meet every Monday for the next 36 weeks.
"Worcestershire County Council is involved in discussions at the very highest level," said Coun Lord.
"I will ensure that Worcestershire's case is heard as decisions are made over the future of Rover over the coming months."
MG Rover went into receivership on Friday putting at risk 6,000 jobs.
