GARDENING and conservation go hand-in-hand as part of a Wild About Gardens project launched this week.
It stresses the importance of gardens as havens for wildlife, as many of the nation's wildflower meadows and ancient woodlands have disappeared.
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is calling on people to take part in a postcard survey, aiming to reveal gardeners' attitudes to gardening for wildlife.
"Creating a home for wildlife in your own garden, however small the space, is good for nature and immensely rewarding," said the Trust's director, Colin Raven.
"By working with the Royal Horticultural Society we hope to encourage more gardeners to get involved with wildlife and to share their experiences.
"All garden owners have the opportunity to make a difference and Wild About Gardens aims to give everyone the advice they need."
To take part in the survey, contact the Trust on 01905 754919 or download a card from www.wildaboutgardens.org
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is planning to hold a gardening event on Sunday, August 7, at Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester.
