THIS weekend sees Alcester Male Voice Choir's 31st annual concert.
The 75-strong choir, founded in 1974 by director of music Judith Land, is one of the most popular in the Midlands and has performed in prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, National Indoor Arena and Symphony Hall.
Guest soloists Anya Birchall, Christopher Carroll and Russell Medley join the choir for the annual concert, at Alcester's Greig Centre, on Saturday and Sunday at 7pm.
Violinist Anya has performed all over the world and as part of a duo with Rosie Richardson, given a televised performance in the North Cyprus International Music Festival.
Tenor Christopher Carroll has an extensive concert and oratorio repertoire and is in increasing demand on the concert platform.
Russell Medley specialises in accompaniment, with the majority of his experience in the accompaniment of singers.
The choir will perform 12 songs, including the Maori Lullaby Hine e Hine together with Pokarekare Anne, the "unofficial" national anthem of New Zealand.
Tickets, priced £9, are available from the ticket secretary on 01527 542975, from the Greig Centre on 01789 400073 or from Guy's Menswear, High Street, Alcester.
