Stockingford 3, Littleton 0
HAVING played Stockingford at home just two weeks ago and winning 1-0, Littleton hit the road last weekend hopeful of a repeat success.
However, after an even first half the hosts took a measure of control and ran out deserved winners although the margin of victory was rather flattering.
Littleton had the first chance when Steve Brown nodded down to Simon Brain whose effort went just wide. This was quickly followed by a sweet half-volley by Jon Gregory that the home goalkeeper clawed to safety.
Stockingford centre forward Steve Charlton then missed an open goal as did Jay Wilson five minutes later and the visitors went in at half-time reasonably content and hoping for that little bit of luck which turns games.
However, it was the hosts who were favoured when Jamie Williams, in splendid isolation some six yards from goal and looking yards offside, hammered home.
Shortly after, a penalty award gave Stockingford the opportunity to double their advantage and Moore obliged.
The visitors were now chasing the game and the effects of the many games they are playing began to catch up with them, as they left gaps at the back and it was no surprise when Wayne Hadley added a third.
Littleton are home to Polesworth on Saturday (2.45) and next Wednesday are at home again to Fairfield (6.20).
