Evesham Utd U-14 3

UNITED warmed up for their League Cup final against Cambridge United on April 23 with another solid team display in last weekend's friendly.

The three goals were all scored in the first half after which several chances went to waste and Josh Millar saw another effort disallowed.

The hosts took the lead after ten minutes but the win was as good as wrapped up by the break thanks to goals from David Huggins, Daniel Trotman and captain Johnny Wein.

SUNDAY'S top of the table Mercian League contest was decided by a solitary goal eight minutes from time.

However, the visitors failed to turn possession into goals until Aldington's pass to the overlapping James Marsh saw Jamie Watts smash in the resulting cross.

Littleton Jnrs U-14 3,

Lyppard Rgrs Speedy 2

VICTORY over the current league leaders lifted Littleton back into the championship hunt.

After Jack Proctor and Lance Smith had both seen efforts saved, Rangers took the lead.

It didn't last long as Smith headed in namesake Matt's free-kick.

A goalkeeping error gifted Lyppard the interval lead but second half strikes from Matt Smith and Will Begg secured a vital win.

Ilmington U-10 6,

Badsey Rgrs 2

A FAILURE to turn chances into goals proved costly as Rangers slipped to defeat in last week's group match in the Ambassador League.

In fact they trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes and, even though James Schembri reduced the deficit, a tenacious Ilmington side were in no mood to relinquish their lead and went on to score four more after more chances were squandered at the other end.

Jack Millward scored Badsey's second in what turned out to be a disappointing defeat.

Badsey Rgrs U-10 3,

Charlton Rvrs 1

A FAR from convincing display against depleted opponents earned Rangers the league points last weekend.

Alex Trotman opened the scoring in the first half but Charlton levelled before the interval.

Luke Richardson struck the bar after the restart but Rangers didn't have to wait long for more goals as the same player made it 2-1 before Jack Millward sealed victory.

THE omens don't look too good for Badsey's cup final later this month when they went down badly to their opponents.

A defensive lapse saw Rangers quickly behind and a second soon followed.

Only smart goalkeeping prevented Rangers hitting back and a penalty save added to Badsey woes before two late Charlton goals finally ended hopes of a comeback.

Bredon Colts U-10 0,

Badsey Rgrs 0

TUESDAY night's goalless encounter left both teams happy with a draw.

Defences were on top throughout although it was Badsey who created the best chances, the majority of which came after the introduction of Jack Millward and Nick Remfry.

Inkberrow 4,

Peopleton U-11 5

SUBSTITUTE George Hodgetts fired in a first half hat-trick to power Peopleton into a 4-0 interval lead.

Joe Fowles had earlier opened the scoring and the visitors seemed safe as the second half started.

However, Inkberrow used the wind to good effect and stunned the visitors with four goals only for Jake Bartlett to clinch victory with a goal on the break for a relieved Peopleton.

David Maughan was named player of the match.

Worcester City 0,

Evesham Utd U-12 3

UNITED threatened to run riot but their pressure wasn't rewarded until early in the second half.

Jake Hall finally broke the stalemate and then doubled the lead five minutes later.

The Robins were now in control and a third goal from Michael Savidge secured victory and left the winners on a high ahead of this weekend's Midlands Junior League League Cup final.

Evesham Utd U-13 Girls 8, Bromyard Tn 3

KATIE Armento banged in a hat-trick in the opening 15 minutes to spearhead United to an emphatic victory.

Armento struck after only five minutes and, after completing her treble, it was left to Rachel Pattison to net her side's fourth before the break.

The deficit was narrowed within seconds of the start of the second half but the four-goal cushion was son restored when Rosie Hemming scored following a cross from Josie Symonds.

Armento then made it 6-1 but complacency set in and Town netted twice at the other end before Armento and Symonds lifted Evesham's total to eight.

Churchdown Panthers Clts 0,

Badsey Rgrs U-15 10

MID-TABLE Churchdown were no match for title chasing Rangers who rattled up an easy win.

Goals from Shaun Read and Joe Smith gave Badsey an early advantage and further strikes from Jon Stickler and Marcus Humpston had doubled the lead by half-time.

It was 6-0 soon after the restart when Shaun Read and Jamie Clarke both found the target before the latter's second followed an own goal.

Player of the match Smith then completed his hat-trick and a double-figure haul was achieved when Read scored his side's tenth.

Evesham Utd U-11 B 3, Southside 1

GOALS from Joe Irons, Angus Steel and Daniel Wilcox ensured victory for United.

It was end to end stuff and only the excellence of Andrew Hay, James Brown, Sam Penfold, James Hitchman and goalkeeper Tom Bennett helped Evesham claim a fine win.

The margin of victory would have been greater had Sam Hitchman not been denied by a post and Oliver Wilkes not seen his effort fly narrowly wide.
