HEADLESS Cross Ladies Reserves got through to the final of the League Cup after despatching Evesham United 2-0.

A determined Cross took the game to Evesham from the start and were unlucky not to take the lead when Heidi Rowan hit a curling shot only to see her effort tipped over the bar by the United keeper.
From the resulting Paula McDowell corner Lisa Paronuzzi collected the ball and laid it off to Noeleen Murrin who saw her shot go inches wide.
The pressure finally told when Paronuzzi played in Gardiner who outpaced the United defender and hit a low left foot drive into the bottom corner.
Five minutes later Cross keeper Paula Palfreyman's goal kick everyone before finding Staniland who rounded the keeper and coolly hit the back of the net for number two.
Manager Mandy Hill said: "The result was outstanding, the whole team was determined to get this result."
