THERE were a couple of shocks n the latest round of matches in the Worcester CB Indoor League and none more so than Eve-sham's defeat at the hands of The Boxmen.

Overbury were other surprise losers as St Benedict's totally dominated their lacklustre opponents.

Casuals took to the wicket with an under strength side but they were no match for the determined Boxmen.

Father and son John and David Lawrence both took a liking to the Evesham bowlers before Nigel Colwall and Eric Fowler followed suit with some lusty blows as the scoreboard rattled along to 120-3.

Fowler's dismissal of Barry Clements and Paul Jones with successive deliveries left the Casuals reeling on 11-2 and, when Pete Cross was run out in the third over and Ian Stowe in the fourth, the writing was on the wall for the league leaders.

There was no way back and a final total of 44-6 was Eve-sham's lowest score for many years.

An in form St Bees were equally efficient in overcoming Overbury and they were given a fine start when Shep-herd and Sara went along at a swift pace.

Despite their retirements, runs continued to flow freely and even debutant and last man Nicholson joined in then fun with an unbeaten 32 most of which came off the last two overs.

Overbury were given a solid start as Haynes and Westmore added 52 in just five overs but the lower order couldn't keep up the pace despite Alex Munro taking 16 off one wayward over.

The chase subsided meekly with Overbury 24 runs adrift on 119-3 at the close.
