Enville 0 Droitwich Spa 2
PROMOTION chasing Droitwich took another step to catching the leaders in the Midland Combination Division Two on Saturday.
Spa, who have several games in hand on the leaders Archdale and University of Birmingham, kept the pressure on the top two.
With Adam Holland and Richard Maguire back in the side Droitwich manager Kevin Blaber could field a full strength side.
Spa's opener came when the Enville goalkeeper dropped a cross and Darren Charles squared the ball to Maguire - who tapped it into the back of the net.
Droitwich maintained the pressure in the second half and Maguire curled an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.
Andy Keenahan and Arron Goodwin both had chances to extend Spa's lead, but wasted them.
Blaber said: "It was an efficient performance by the whole team.
"We're still in with a shout of the title.
"We have the momentum now and if we can keep it going we have a great chance of going up."
On April 7 Darren Charles scored as Droitwich took a useful point away from Cadbury Athletic with a 1-1 draw.
