A THANK you to all those residents of the Primsland area of Droitwich Spa who turned out on Saturday morning to assist with the development of our new Spring Meadow Doorstep Green.

A total of 55 adults and children volunteered to give two hours of their time to litter pick the area and also to prune trees and shrubs.

The appearance of the area has improved greatly as a result and we hope all Primsland residents will be able to enjoy their new amenity this summer as a result of the volunteers' efforts.

We would also like to thank Droitwich Spa Town Council, and in particular the Town Clerk's office, for organising the equipment required for the working party. Thanks are also due to Wade Muggleton of Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Service for giving up his time on a Saturday morning to come along and give help and advice with the pruning of trees and shrubs.

Finally, we would also like to record our appreciation for Duncan, our host at the Spring Meadow pub, for allowing us to use the car park to site our rubbish skip and for providing liquid refreshment for thirsty workers.

Our appeal for a voluntary tree warden to look after the trees on the new 'doorstep green' has borne fruit, with three local residents coming forward and offering their services.

For those who missed out on Saturday's working party, there will be another opportunity to help out in the autumn when we have our next pruning and lopping session.
