Bromyard 21, Evesham U-11/12 21
A SECOND trip to Bromyard produced a second draw of the season for Evesham's youngsters.
The visitors opened their account with a superb try from centre Scott Coulson who carved his way through the Bromyard backs before going over with three defenders hanging off of him.
Stuart Rock added the conversion but the hosts gamely tried to counter and a couple of lively backs put Evesham on the back foot and two tries were conceded.
This really was a poor reflection on the hard work carried out by the Avon Street side who drove at the Bromyard pack time and time again with Jordan Nobes, Elliot Stooke and Jamie Willis to the fore.
Evesham were hit again from a counter attack from deep and found themselves three tries to one down at half-time.
A series of explosive drives from Andrew Uncles starting with one immediately from the restart gave his side a good forward gain. The forwards and backs then combined to keep the ball alive and moving forward for the instigator to appear again and storm over the line.
Evesham continued to attack and camped themselves in Bromyard's half although a couple of attempted breakouts required some alert defending that saw Luke Fisher produce a stupendous try-saving tackle.
Trailing three tries to two, the visitors hit back relentlessly driving through the forwards and also trying to spin the ball out wide far more than they have done all season.
This resulted in an equalising score started from a good forwards move and an interchange that led to Peter Johnson stepping inside switching the ball to James Cocks whose superb jinking run beat the covering defence.
