BREDON Buzzards Under-15s took part in two days of tournament rugby in Ireland a trip organised by the Guinness Rugby Club.
The village club's party was boosted by players and a coach from Evesham and their opening opponents were Barnhall from Dublin.
They proved to be formidable opponents, but Bredon battled stoutly and only lost 14-0.
Their second game was against North Kildare and Bredon again showed that they were at least a match for their hosts only losing out to a solitary score.
That elusive victory wasn't forthcoming against English opponents in the opening day's final match when Surrey side Cobham recorded a comfortable win and later proved their prowess with an overall tournament success.
The second day's pair of matches brought opposition in the shape of Naas and Hereford and at least the Buzzards managed to avoid defeat against the latter but they failed to score in both outings.
On completion of the Pool stage, Bredon were placed fifth that earned a clash with the equivalent placed side in the other pool when the tourists at last came good.
Sherborne were the side to feel the full force of Bredon's power during a match that produced tries for Stuart Doust, Tom Robinson, Jack Brixby (2), and Darren Critcher.
Spencer Goggin landed five conversions in his side's welcome 35-5 triumph.
