PAUL Wilson (Letters, Monday, April 4) seems to be looking for a response.
Because the law is so often ignored, these days we face increasing chaos and danger in our lives. Among many other things, cycling on the pavement is unlawful.
Mr Wilson complains of the dangers to cyclists in today's traffic conditions. I am mindful of cyclists who endanger life and limb for elderly folk by riding, sometimes like maniacs, on pavements and through pedestrian precincts.
I do not regard myself as petty, but yes - I do think that all cyclists who ride on pavements should be prosecuted instantly.
I have never been a cyclist, but in my younger days I walked many miles at a good pace.
Alas, I can no longer walk very far or very fast. However, I suggest Mr Wilson dumps his bike and starts walking.
Walking is excellent exercise, which enables people to remain in good shape while eating whatever they like!
D E MARGRETT,
Worcester.
