WARWICKSHIRE are quietly confident of producing an upset in this season's RFU National Under-20 Championship when they take on defending champions Yorkshire at Otley in the national quarter-finals on Saturday.
Yorkshire accounted for Warwickshire's Midlands rivals North Midlands at the same stage of last season's competition and have again made their intentions clear by winning the North qualifying group.
Warwickshire, in contrast, have reached the knockout stages of the competition for the first time but they are undaunted by the prospect of facing the favourites.
Warwickshire attribute their success to an outstanding back-row of Ryan Wells (Leicester Tigers), Damion Haai (Stratford) and number eight Wilf Barclay (Rugby Lions) plus two pacy wingers in Chris Murphy (Leamington) and Sam Montague (Barkers' Butts).
