A ROOFER caused violence in a Redditch fish and chip shop, Worcester Crown Court heard.
On the day he was due to face trial by jury, Matthew Williams pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault on Baldev Badham-Gill and causing him actual bodily harm.
Williams, aged 25, of Icewell Hill, St James, Newmarket, Suffolk, also admitted common assault on Pc Julian Smith and causing criminal damage at the Fisherman's Catch on Unicorn Hill on November 27, 2003.
Judge John Cavell remanded Williams on bail for a pre-sentence report.
He will be sentenced on April 29.
