STUART Watkiss will point to the League Two formbook to inspire Kidderminster Harriers to the first of four potential status-saving fixtures at home to leaders Yeovil on Saturday.

Although Gary Johnson's men top the table and are favourites for promotion, Harriers boast a better recent record than their high-flying visitors.

And Watkiss will use the West Country club's recent wobble, including their defeat at Harriers' relegation rivals Rushden, to lift his Aggborough troops.

"They are the best team in the league because after 42 games teams are where they deserve to be," he said.

"It's a massive test for us but we've got to go into it with optimism and believng we can be successful. I've got the current form guide in front of me and from the last nine games we've taken three more points than Yeovil.

"You can make what you want out of figures but it tells you that recently we've been better than them.

"We've only lost two out of the last nine games, so we've been one of the form teams in the division and that's what I'll be reminding the lads.

Watkiss believes Harriers are vastly improved from when they lost 2-1 at Yeovil during his first game in charge last December - but he insists keeping Kidderminster up would be just as impressive as the Huish Park side winning the title.

"You can't knock what Gary Johnson's done there because he's done a fantastic job and they play the right way, but their manager has done it over a period of time.

"If we were manage to stay in the league this season it would be a major major achievement too."

Illness has kept Simon Weaver, Simon Russell and Gary Birch away from the club, while Mark Jackson, Dean Keates,Tom Bennett, Mark Rawle and Lee Jenkins have also missed training. They are all expected to be fit for Saturday.
