I FOUND the incident of the Welsh/English road signs rather amusing (Shuttle/Times & News, April 7).
Unfortunately, politics demands that it be taken more seriously than it deserves.
Mike Price, the "Liberal activist" whose surname suggests a Welsh origin, looks appropriately solemn next to one of the bilingual signs.
Nonetheless, his sense of humour shines through in his remarks.
I liked his punning use of the word "dim" which, of course, has different meanings in Welsh and English.
Then there was his humorous comment that perhaps the Welsh had invaded and made substantial territorial gains overnight.
If so, nothing like it has happened since the revolt of Owain Glyndwr in the 15th century.

I READ with interest that the good folks of the Liberal Party have got nothing better to do than complain about bilingual signs being used by contractors doing roadworks.
Surely there are more important things going on in Wyre Forest to worry about like the hospital, education or the state of the roads themselves.
Come on politicians, if you want people to take you seriously in the run-up to both the general and county council elections, talk about the serious issues affecting everyone.
