A FAMILY from Southern India, whose livelihood was devastated as a result of the tsunami disaster, is making good use of a fishing boat bought for them by the Rotary Club of Evesham.
Evesham Rotary Club member Bob Major said: "The boat is one of 65 provided by Rotary Clubs as a result of an appeal made by Rotary International of India's past district governor Ravi Vadlarani for direct assistance for the area."
He added: "Plans have also been formulated for the building of 65 low-cost homes in the area with the Indian Government providing 50 per cent of the funding and Rotary International the remainder."
