Stourport shared the spoils in a hard-earned 7-7 draw at Bromyard in their penultimate North Mids South Two league game.

Despite being on the receiving end of some big scores against Bromyard in recent years, Stourport were buoyed by their previous week's win over Clee Hill.

A converted try for Bromyard inside the first five minutes temporarily dampened Stourport's enthusiasm but the Walshes Meadow men stuck to their task.

Although the try had resulted from Stourport failing to clear their lines and missing a couple of tackles, they defended stoutly from then on.

And 20 minutes later their determination paid off when flanker Victor Little managed to break through the strong Bromyard defence with

second row Matt Bailey in support.

Little was finally taken down by Bromyard, but made a fantastic pass out of the tackle to Bailey who crashed over the line for a well deserved try. Fly half Lee Philp converted bringing the scores even at 7-7.

Both teams were fired up for the second half, but it was Stourport who dominated possession and territory and who were stronger in line outs and scrums.

Despite a couple of missed penalty kicks from both sides, there were no further points and spirited Stourport were good value for the draw if not more.

The seconds completed a productive afternoon for Stourport with a 12-3 win over their Bromyard counterparts at Walshes Meadow. Alan Banks and Rob Bush crashed over for tries with Stewart Wilson adding a conversion.
