WORCESTER Wolves are hoping their legion of loyal supporters will cheer them to the England Basketball League Division One play-off final.

Between 150 and 200 fans are expected to journey up the M1 for Saturday's semi-final second leg with City of Sheffield Arrows.

Wolves won the first leg 92-80 at a packed University College Worcester and can expect a large contingent among the capacity crowd at the English Institute of Sport (6pm).

Wolves owner and managing director, Roger Clarke, said the club had received a lot of last-minute ticket enquiries and all fans would be making their own way.

He added: "It's a bit of a lonely place on the road. It's nice to see our supporters cheering them, the players recognise the faces -- there are a lot of regulars. It's a spirit lifter.

"We took a lot to the finals last year but we normally take about 30 or 40. This will be a very rare one."

Although Wolves have a 12-point lead, Clarke is aware of the threat posed by Sheffield's Ryan Patton, who scored 38 points last Saturday.

"They are a very good, well-drilled side, and coached very well," Clarke added.
