IN her programme entitled "Anyone for Tennis!", Alison Osborne concentrated on "doubles" - recordings of duos. Among the items included were Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp, Sulla Tomba from Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti, sung by Luciano Pavarotti and Joan Sutherland, O Soave Fanciulla from La Boheme by Puccini, sung by Juissi Bjorling and his wife Anneliese, an extract from CPE Bach's Magnificat, Holst's trombone/organ duet, Dvorak's Slavonic Dance number 10, on two pianos, JS Bach's concerto for oboe and violin, and the popular Au Fonds du Temple Saint from The Pearl Fishers, by Bizet.
Tomorrow evening, a party will visit the Adrian Boult Hall, Birmingham, to see a recital by Allan Schiller, in aid of the Denis Matthews Memorial Trust.
