WORCESTER'S TV licence fee dodgers are being warned that they will be caught, as enquiry officers will be out in force once again this spring.
Figures from TV Licensing show that last spring, almost 100 evaders were caught in Worcester as a result of TV Licensing's longer days, lighter nights local recruitment drive and enhanced visiting strategy.
"This spring, our enquiry officers will be pulling out all the stops to catch licence evaders in Worcester," Mark Whitehouse, spokesperson for TV Licensing Midlands.
"The number of evaders caught in spring last year demonstrates the effectiveness of our visiting strategy, resulting in more successful visits to unlicensed addresses in Worcester."
"Armchair sports fans should therefore take note - this spring we will be targeting licence evaders during major sporting events such as the FA Cup and the London Marathon."
Anyone caught watching TV without a valid licence risks a court appearance, a maximum £1,000 fine plus court costs of around £40 and they still have to buy a licence, which currently costs £126.50 for a colour TV.
