KEEN movie-goers will be able to enjoy some of the best in world cinema while supping a cool beer as a new film night starts at a Worcester venue.
Arts organisation 1147 and Top Heavy Promotions have teamed up for the World Cinema Night at the Marr's Bar in Pierpoint Street.
The first film to be screened is the critically acclaimed West Beirut - an uplifting, hard-hitting retro tale of teenage life, set amid the urban chaos of war-torn Lebanon in the 1970s. It is set to be shown at the venue at 8pm on Tuesday, April 19 and will be a trial run to gauge the response.
Vicky Anstey, of Top Heavy Promotions, said she decided to organise the event after returning to the city from studying in Edinburgh to find there was only a choice on mainstream films to watch at local cinemas.
"We hope people will enjoy the idea of watching a film in a more relaxed and unique environment and this kind of informal film night will allow people to chat about the film more after the screening over a drink from the bar," she said.
