AN under-strength West Malvern side picked up three more Worcester Saturday League division one points with a deserved victory against visiting Pershore Manor Reserves.
WEST MALVERN 4, PERSHORE MANOR RES 2
The home side opened strongly and got off to a good start when Phil Jenkins put them in front in the fifth minute.
Pershore hit back and equalised in the 20th minute but when the visiting goalkeeper parried a shot away in the 40th minute, West's Dave Kelm headed home.
West Malvern increased their lead in the 43rd minute, following good build-up play, when Phil Jenkins scored his second goal of the game.
Pershore rallied after the break and pulled a goal back in the 50th minute but West Malvern looked comfortable with Jason Griffiths, back following an injury, having an outstanding game at sweeper.
The home side created several chances but failed to convert them until the 80th minute when Anthony Holder sealed the game and put West Malvern 4-2 up.
In the 85th minute, West Malvern went down to ten men when Jenkins limped off with an injury but the the teams were soon level when a visiting player was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Tomorrow (Saturday) West Malvern, sponsored by the Cross Keys and Amey, are away at Oak Apple. Players to meet at The Bakery car park at 1.45pm.
