I found it interesting, and somewhat amusing, to read the letter from Jeremy Webb, county councillor for Malvern Trinity Division, regarding the North Site development (Your Letters, April 8).
Mr Webb states: "The developers are committed to traffic flow improvements costing about £1m, but no-one has been able to persuade them to fund any more."
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all submit planning applications, with the ability to dictate the terms of any adverse impact they may have on the surrounding environment? We could merely do as we pleased due to the fact that no one was "able to persuade" us otherwise.
Surely Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council should be in the driving seat here, with any proposed developments having to follow conditions that they set.
Just who's side are the councils on, the developers or existing residents?
