Malvern went a goal behind on 35 seconds when keeper Paul Wyatt miscued a back-pass from Andy Chalmers straight to the feet of Darren Russell, who crossed for Andy Tiday to head home.
On 10 minutes it was 1-1 when an inswinging corner by Phil Preedy was headed into his own net by defender Martin Fox.
Coalville went back into the lead on 30 minutes when a miscued back-pass from Peter Roberts was latched onto by John Chapman to slide home.
Malvern equalised again on 40 minutes when a searching cross into the box by Richard Tompkins was again headed into his own net, this time by Adam Stevens.
Deep into first-half injury time Malvern took the lead for the first time when Simon Judge turned his marker before unleashing a terrific shot into the net, via the underside of the bar.
Malvern came out for the second half with an all guns blazing and on 52 minutes extended their lead when Duncan Preedy crossed superbly for brother Phil to powerfully head home.
Play switched from end to end but on 85 minutes, Phil Preedy put the icing on the cake when he lashed home a penalty awarded when Simon Judge was brought down in the box.
