GEORGE Cowley, (Letters, Wednesday, April 6) refers to a 56-year-old unemployed man who wants the Tories to win the General Election.

This apparently because it is his experience, that they (the Tories), will just let him lie back and receive his benefits, no questions asked, whereas, with Labour "there are endless forms to fill in."

The retirement age in this country is 65, not 56. I suggest this individual, whoever he is, gets off his backside and starts looking for a job.

He may even be successful - then he will have no more forms to fill in, whoever wins the General Election.

D E MARGRETT,

Worcester.
