Owing to the continuing indisposition of Mr Harvey (hon. conductor), the Malvern Link Musical Society has been reluctantly obliged to abandon the idea of giving a concert after Easter and rehearsals have now been concluded for the season, with the exception of the Madresfield Competition music (for ladies' trio), rehearsals for which will be on Wednesdays, 5.30pm. A small boy, aged 10, of Little Marcle, was placed in the dock and charged with stealing one duck, valued at 3s, on March 24 and another duck, on March 29, of the same value. They were the property of William Turner, farmer, of Little Marcle Court. The defendant admitted that he did kill one duck and took it home. Ledbury Free Press, April 18, 1905.

A telegram wishing "bon voyage on a new adventure" sent by the crew of the royal yacht Britannia was received this morning by Leading Steward Fred Britteon and his bride, Miss Bettine Nicholls, of Newtown Road. Another wire was from Capt. John Adams and his wife. Indeed, there was a real nautical air about the wedding, for even the handsome three-tiered cake was decorated with galleons and anchors, along with a hand-painted picture of the Britannia, correct in every detail. Easter brought an almost continuous stream of traffic through Led-bury. Since the end of the last war, Major Stacey Hatfield has been in the habit of taking accurate records of traffic on Bank Holidays. On Easter Monday, from 5.15am to 6.15pm, he recorded the passing of 1,409 vehicles, the heaviest traffic he has yet recorded. Ledbury Reporter, April 15, 1955.

The annual conference of the National Organisation of Women is being held in Malvern this week. On Tuesday, 500 delegates gathered in the town and attended an ecumenical service conducted in Malvern Priory by Canon Bill Williams. Malvern Gazette, April 17, 1980.
Two BBC personalities were married quietly in Ledbury. Newscaster and interviewer Jan Leeming and Radio 2 announcer and disc jockey Patrick Lunt were married at a civil ceremony at Ledbury Register Office, out of the glare of publicity. The marriage was blessed at St Michael and All Angels' by the bridegroom's father, Canon R G Lunt, of Station House. Ledbury Reporter, April 17, 1980.
