WYCHAVON residents are being reminded that from today there will be changes to the waste collection service.

Now, bags of waste will be collected from the edge of people's houses rather than grouped in piles.

And the free collection of green waste will be stopped but a glass collection service will be introduced later this year.

These changes are part of Wychavon District Council's investment into the service which will see an extra £1.2m over the next four years.

Client services manager Sharon Cresswell said: "To help people make sense of these new changes a leaflet has been sent to all households.

"All the changes are to make waste collection service easier and better so it's important residents are up to speed."

Extra leaflets are available from Community Contact Centres, by calling the 24-hour phoneline on 01386 565139 or by e-mailing recycling@wychavon.gov.uk
