LISTENERS are so upset Dave "Bradders" Bradley is being taken off the Sunday morning airwaves, a Bring Back Bradders petition has been launched.
And the DJ himself is said to be "not too happy" with the changes.
Loyal listener Mike Baldwin said the loss of the BBC Hereford & Worcester DJ from the slot was like not having roast beef for Sunday lunch.
He set up the petition on Friday at his shop, Ladygo Stores in Hallow. By this morning, 153 people had signed up in support.
The petition started a day after the announcement was reported in the Worcester News - where the DJ also writes a regular Friday column.
Last week, the managing editor of BBC H&W, James Coghill, confirmed three shows were changing presenters to ''refresh'' the schedules. Other shows affected are Mike George's weekday breakfast show, and Rob Yarnold's Sunday Rock Show. The latter left for personal reasons.
"A Sunday without him is like a Sunday without roast beef," said Mr Baldwin.
"I've known him for years. He is a well-liked man who's done such a lot for charity."
He said the collected signatures would be sent to Mr Coghill.
Bradders' former Sunday morning sidekick, Colin Shepherd said the DJ was displeased.
"Dave is not too happy about going, but he works for the BBC so he is going along with the decision," said Mr Shepherd.
"The Sunday show was completely different from the weekday slot. It will be sad to see it go," he added.
"Nothing stays the same," said Mr Coghill
"We have reached a point where, after 12 years, it is time to refresh this part of the schedule," he added.
"I'm aware he had many loyal fans and I hope they will continue to enjoy him during the week."
The last chance to hear Bradders at large on a Sunday will be April 24. Malcolm Boyden will take over the show.
