MALVERN Theatres' chief executive Nic Lloyd has landed a top role with one of the country's leading theatre companies.
Mr Lloyd has been appointed as the new chairman of English Touring Theatre following the retirement of Jeremy Newton, who remains chief executive of the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts.
Mr Lloyd has been on the Board of Trustees of ETT for the last seven years and will now preside over the organisation's quarterly meetings.
Malvern Theatres, in the town's Grange Road, began its close association with ETT in 1998 with The Taming of the Shrew, which featured Kacey Ainsworth, now known to millions as Little Mo from the BBC drama EastEnders.
"I'm delighted to be taking over the role of chairman at this exciting time in ETT's history," said Mr Lloyd.
"Increased support from Arts Council England, a wonderfully ambitious new season, a host of additional high profile patrons and more expertise joining the board all bode well for ETT's continued success."
