HANBURY Hall is preparing to celebrate the 60th anniversary of VE Day.
The house, along with its gardens and grounds, will be open free of charge next weekend as wartime re-enactments of the Home Guard, National Service and land girls take place.
As part of the BBC's People's War campaign, a computer bus will be on site so people can record their memories of the Second World War straight on to the internet.
Becky White, the visitor services manager, said the weekend would be a good opportunity to reminisce.
"In the war Hanbury Hall had a gun placement here and we would love to hear from anyone who has memories of the hall during the war," she said.
"During the weekend we will be remembering one of the greatest moments of the last century.
"It will be an ideal day for the people to share their memories and ensure they are saved forever in the BBC's archive."
As well as the re-enactments there will be a display from the Worcester and Sherwood Foresters Museum including information on the regiment and prisoners of war.
Droitwich Library will be showing visitors how to find out more about the Second World War and Bromsgrove Local History Society will be talking about the 1940s.
The Women's Institute will be displaying information about the food available locally during war time.
Hanbury Hall, near Droitwich, will be open between 11am and 5pm. For information, call 01527 821214.
