WORCESTERSHIRE will target Aussie ace Mike Hussey at Durham tomorrow.
The County, who won their opening Frizzell County Championship Division Two clash at Derby last week, travel to the Riverside hoping to maintain their 100 per cent record.
And, bolstered by the arrival of overseas signing Chaminda Vaas, Tom Moody's men are targeting Durham's new run machine.
Hussey, who made his name at Northamptonshire as a prolific county batsman, got his season off to a flyer at Leicester last week with 253 and Moody knows that getting rid of the left-hander quickly is a must.
"Mike is a key wicket," said Worcestershire's director of cricket.
"He is capable of making big hundreds and, obviously as a Western Australian, I know him very well. He's a very good player so it's important to remove him as quickly as possible."
Durham will also have England fast bowler Steve Harmison in their side and Moody believes that the North East outfit can challenge for honours this season. "They really shouldn't be underestimated," said Moody.
"Durham have got Steve Harmison available and we know what he is capable of plus they've got Paul Collingwood in the side who is also an international player.
"Harmison makes a big difference to their side and they will be a threat."
Moody makes just one change to the side which beat Derbyshire by 10 wickets in their opening clash.
Veteran David Leatherdale drops out of the side, making way for Vaas. And the Australian was delighted to have the Sri Lanka legend available after his country's tour of New Zealand.
"He brings a wealth of experience to the side," he said.
"To have him in the side is a huge bonus and he will bring variation to our attack. Chaminda's a world-class talent on the field but he'll also be important just to have him there in the squad because he brings so much experience to everybody around him.
"I think he'll make a big difference. He's had a long flight but, hopefully, after a good night's sleep, he'll be fine."
Worcestershire: Peters, Moore, Hick, Smith, Solanki, Batty, Pipe, Vaas, Mason, Wigley, Sheriyar. 12th man: Nadeem.
Meanwhile, Worcestershire Academy all- rounder, Richard Jones, has been named as part of the ECB Under 18 squad to play three one-day games next month.
Jones, a right arm fast-medium bowler and middle order batsman, will join the rest of the squad on May 3 at the National Academy, Loughborough.
Academy director Damien D'Oliveira has been impressed by what he has seen of Jones.
