MOBILE phone transmission equipment could be installed on the roof of Redditch Town Hall if plans are given the green light.
Phone giant T-Mobile submitted plans to add its equipment, including six antennas, three dishes and four cabins, to the Alcester Street building.
John Staniland, the council's head of planning, said there was already some transmission equipment on the roof but he was not sure which company owned it.
"Council officers and councillors could decide to give the application the go-ahead but the council's estate manager could still turn it down," he explained.
"At the planning meeting, councillors will just discuss the physical and visual impact of the development."
The matter will be discussed at a forthcoming planning committee meeting.
