I WOULD like to appeal to your readers to join me - yes, I'm swimming - and Mark Foster to be part of Swim for Life's 2005 Swim A Mile Challenge supporting thegreatest charity in the world, the Variety Club Children's Charity (Reg No 209259).
"It's a Cracker" of an event. Just think of all the wheel chairs, disabled equipment, buses etc you can help buy for needy kids - enter today.
Swim A Mile takes place at over 2000 UK pools, many giving free swims, between May 15-29 to encourage people to become active through swimming.
Swim as an individual or a team, in one go or in several attempts over the two weeks at a pool near you.
Swimming is a great way for people young and old to improve their health and well-being. Swimming provides a complete cardiovascular workout using nearly all of the upper and lower body muscles.
Entry forms are available at pools, online www.swimforlife.org.uk or actionline 01382 451146.
Don't miss my daily "Smile A Mile" joke online.
Thank you. It's the way I tell 'em.
Signing off - News at Ten,
Frank Carson,
Celebrity Team Captain
