TWO visitors were welcomed to the April meeting of Lickey WI held at the parish hall.

Final arrangements were made for a coach outing to Chepstow and Slimbridge. Two further matches had been played in the county skittles tournament resulting in one win and one draw.

The final match of the season was scheduled during April. Zena Watts gave an account of the recent Hillside Group meeting and Jenny Ryder reported on the Worcestershire annual council meeting.

Alan Craske made a return visit to Lickey, on this occasion to speak about the A-mazing Restoration of the Maze at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens. Alan has been painstakingly hand-clipping the 800 holly trees into shape which form the maze, which was originally planted in 1880. Brenda Cullimore thanked Alan.

There were three lucky raffle winners. Brenda Searle won the competition for a puzzle. At the next meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 4, the resolutions for the forthcoming national AGM will be debated. Members are invited to bring donations, including plants, for a bring and buy table. The competition will be for a pill box.
