THE April meeting of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal Society welcomed Derek Harrington, a member of the Bewdley Civic Society and the Bewdley Museum Society.
Derek showed many excellent slides of the buildings of Bewdley and he outlined the history of the riverside town.
We are now looking forward to our annual boat gathering which will be held at the Boat & Railway, Stoke Works, Bromsgrove, over the May Day weekend starting with live entertainment on the Friday evening.
There will be craft stalls, a jazzband at the lunch times, The Appalachian Dancers and a number of other attractions. There will also be a duck race on the Bank Holiday Monday (May 2). Evening entertainment will be open to the public at a cost of £3. The next meeting will be held on May 3 at 8pm at the Boat & Railway and will be on the History of the Royal Enfield Company by Ann Bradford. All are welcome.
