A SPECIAL celebration is taking place at a top Hanbury attraction to mark the 60th anniversary of VE day.
Hanbury Hall plus its gardens and grounds will be open free of charge this Saturday and Sunday (April 23 and 24) from 11am to 5pm.
There will be a whole range of activities including war time re-enactments with the Home Guard, Wartime National Service and land girls digging for victory.
A computer bus will also be at the property so people can record their memories of the Second World War straight onto the internet.
Visitor services manager Becky White said: "In the war Hanbury Hall had a gun placement and we would love to hear from anyone who has memories of the Hall during the war."
There will also be a display from the Worcester and Sherwood Foresters Museum which will include information of the regiment and prisoners of war.
Droitwich Library staff will be showing visitors how to find out more about the Second World War and Bromsgrove Local History Society will be talking about the area in the 1940s.
The Womens' Institute is organising a display on food available locally in war time.
