A NUMBER of Bromsgrove police officers and staff have clinched commendations at a divisional awards ceremony.
DI Paul Williamson was part of a group commended for demonstrating exceptional leadership, over a sustained period of time, across a range of major and serious crime investigations and critical incidents.
DS Robert King won his for outstanding leadership, detective ability and management skills in a manslaughter case.
DS Leighton Harding, along with a Kidderminster officer, was commended for his actions when a vulnerable man was attacked in his own home.
DC Peter Waldron, DC Mary Evans and DS Angela Howard were commended for a prompt and dynamic investigation which rapidly led to the identification of a man who had been in contact with a Redditch teenager on the internet.
DC Lucy Thornton, DS Brian Russell, DS Amrik Klair, DC Mary Evans and DC Paul Bent all received awards for demonstrating commitment and investigative ability during the investigation into the death of a child in Bromsgrove.
Finally PC Angela Stafford-Cook and Sgt Anthony Quinn were commended for their courage and bravery when dealing with a serious incident involving a man with a knife.
All the officers and staff were presented with special framed certificates.
Chief superintendent Mark Howard, divisional commander for north Worcestershire, said: "I congratulate all of these officers and staff and am delighted their hard work has been recognised. They are a credit to the division."
