TALENTED artists now have a chance to display their work at a new town gallery.

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, in Stoke Heath, has opened a gallery which is incorporated into its visitor shop.

For a small weekly charge artists will be able to put their work on display and have private viewings.

The first exhibition is by Allan Millward from Padstone Day Services, in Recreation Road.

He currently attends the service where adults with learning disabilities are supported to take part in activities within their community.

Day service manager Sandra Hill said: "Allan's work is becoming more sought after. Here at Padstone staff have supported Allan's passion for painting and it is wonderful that the community is now valuing Allan as an artist in his on right."

Talented self-taught artist Allan said he had been told he had a distinctive style.

"I have enjoyed painting throughout my life," he said.

" I am happy that my paintings are going to be on display and hope people enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed painting them."

Allan's work will be on display until the end of May.
