A DRAFT plan which is aimed at easing traffic problems, particularly for vehicles emerging out of Church Green West, known as The Parade, is to be placed before the Safety First Committee for consultation, it was agreed at Tuesday's meeting of Redditch Trades Council.
In support of the plan, it was stated the parking of cars on one side of The Parade blocked the vision of drivers coming out of Church Road and it was suggested that five of the trees which lined the road should be removed, with the result that space would be available for a drawn-in for vehicles, leaving the road clear for the passage of three-line traffic.
As things were at present, three-line traffic, particularly at a busy time, was most difficult.
The plan was one which commended itself to the members, and Mrs Davies said it ought to be supported for lives were more important than trees.
