A CHARITY football match has been hailed a success.
More than 100 fans turned out to see players from Redditch Council's landscaping and countryside department beat a team of contractors 9-2.
The match was held at the Abbey Stadium and all money raised will go to the mayor's charities, which are Age Concern and the Community Mental Health Team.
Karl Stokes, a spokesman for the landscaping and countryside department, said: "The match went really well."
He could not confirm exactly how much was raised but expected it to be a substantial amount.
